Hey everyone! I am so excited and honored to have had the opportunity to guest design for Pretty Little Studio this month. The following projects were created using the wonderful PLS products.
Project #1
“I really love the orange colors in the Marigold and Oakley Avenue collections and they match my dress in this photo perfectly. For this project, I cut several flowers on my Silhouette using a cut file from The Cut Shoppe and layered them behind the photo. For my journaling, I created flip book (I guess that’s what it’s called) with washi tape, the photo, and journaling cards. That fox is my absolute favorite!
Project #2
This layout of my daughter Abigail is one of my favorites to date. Also, it should be stated that I had to pay her in order to use this photo on my project! Again, I used the Marigold Collection for this project – the oranges go so well with Abby’s hair.
To begin, I used a piece of 12×12 watercolor paper and Prima watercolors to create the background. Next, I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe and then layered lots of die cuts and some flair. I completed the layout by adding the title, a bit of journaling, and machine stitching around the edge.
Project #3
This layout captures my son’s inquisitive nature to a tee – he is constantly doing some sort of science experiment and this night we captured photos of freezing fog using a flashlight and his breath.
The bold striped papers are so fun and add such vibrant colors to projects. For this layout, I began with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe and black card stock. I backed several of the stars with the striped papers and then laid it across white card stock at an angle. Next, I backed my photos and placed them on top of the stars. I finished with the title (another Cut Shoppe file), the small “Explore” tag, and enamel dots.
Project #4
Since it’s February, I had to create some sort of Valentine-y project and PLS has the perfect papers and embellishments! This layout is of my husband and me a few years back. I decided to use a black and white photo so it wouldn’t clash with the papers and paired it with the You & Me collection. I kept this project pretty simple and only used a few papers, journaling cards, and one die cut. Next, I used my circle punch with the XOXO patterned paper and sewed the circles to the layout to give it more balance and texture. The title and small hearts were cut using a file from the Silhouette Design Store. I added a couple of strips of paper along the bottom of the page and called it good. This was a quick and easy layout to put together, which is what we need sometimes.
