Together is the Best Place to Be

Hello and thank you for visiting!

This week I am sharing a project created with different pieces from the Scrapbook Circle  Adore You embellishment add-on kit. It seems that I am on a bit of a black-and-white photo kick lately and this layout is no different. I originally printed the photo in color and then changed it to better match my color scheme.

The background for the layout is a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 white card stock with Maggie Holmes patterned paper cut slightly narrower and stitched in place. I used a zigzag stitch with black thread so it is more prominent and provides a visual anchor.

It is so exciting to be able to use Claudia's van Rooijen's All My Heart collection from Pretty Little Studio since she has been a part of the Scrapbook Circle Creative Team for the past year. On this layout, I layered the gold foil journaling cards behind my photo. The cards are 3 x 4, so I cut them in half to give the illusion of  larger pieces of paper being layered on top of one another.

I used the Love gold foil card as part of my title and paired it with the Heidi Swapp acetate word with foil, which is machine stitched in place with black thread.

Next, I used a small circle punch on the journaling card with hearts and used them as embellishments. They are attached with foam squares so they pop off of the page. Last, I put a few of the Bella Blvd. puffy star stickers on the layout to anchor the visual triangle.

What you don't see is the journaling . . . I put this on the back of the layout, which is something I do quite often. While the photo shows a happy scene with my kiddos, it was actually taken at my grandmother's house following her funeral services and captures what was most likely the last time I will ever be there again. While the story is important, it is one that I want to keep tucked away.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you are inspired to create!
Jen
