Dads Are Rad with Paper Issues

Hey friends!

Today we celebrate the special men in our lives - it may be dad, stepdad, uncle, brother, son, or a good friend . . . whoever it is, today is his day.

To honor the special man in my life - my husband - I created a layout for the June Dads Are Rad challenge using Carta Bella's The Great Outdoors collection and letter stickers from October Afternoon (my OA obsession is a story for another day).

This layout was super easy to make and only took an hour. I used a patterned paper with strips and cut it into pieces to create the background. These were placed with a bit of ATG adhesive and then machine-stitched.

The photo was next and it is held in place with foam squares that are doubled up to lift it above the strips of paper. I did back the photo with a couple of pieces of patterned paper and they are held together with a couple of staples.

I used a few stickers from the collection to embellish one corner of the photo. The squirrel is an inside joke and refers to our daughters, who we call squirrels instead of girls. Looking back, I probably bought this collection just for that squirrel sticker. LOL!

Last was the title, which was created using October Afternoon stickers from my stash. These were stitched in place to match the background and keep them in place. A few enamel dots were thrown down and I called it good.

I love this picture of my husband and youngest daughter. There isn't any journaling on this project because I feel the photo speaks for itself.
