Hello friends!
It's McJen today with a project I created for May's Girls Rule the World Challenge usign the Happiness collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio (you can find it here).
When it comes to girls ruling the world, this girl definitely rules mine. This year was Abby's first formal dance and this collection is perfect with my photo.
Lately I have been using a lot of paint on my backgrounds, and this was no exception. Using the smooshing method, I created the pink splotches of paints. I followed those with splatters in the same colors. I really wanted to give this layout some extra oomph, so I tore the right side of my white cardstock and folded the edges back. Next, I backed the cardstock with patterned paper and then used pink floss to stitch over the fold.
The photo was printed in black and white so it didn't compete with the papers and embellishments. I used several patterned papers and journaling tags behind the photo and followed those with floral die cuts - my absolute favorite.
I continued layer die cuts and stickers until I felt the layout was complete.
The journaling is just a small bit along the bottom indicating the event and the date.
This collection is so beautiful . . . I love what I was able to create with it.
If you are playing along with any of the Paper Issues this month, there is still time to submit your completed projects for a chance to win a PI gift card.
